A good patience result for Australia. Scotland started with a defensive 11 behind the ball happily defending the many attacking moves by the Australia stoping me short of greeting past the 25 yard line.
Patience paid off with Australia breaking through to win a penalty corner in the 26th minute. Peter Hammond opened the scoring with a rocket like drive rattling the back board.
The teams went into half time up 1 nil and with an air of confidence given the strong amount of possession that we held.
After half time there was a strong showing, possessing the ball with Australia have many attacking drives into to the circle. They won their only PC for the half at the 57th minute and ably converted this through Peter Hammond with another direct drive.
Overall, a good result with our third game in a row tomorrow versus Ireland. Ireland accounted for RSA today 4-1so they will have their tails up when they meet us at 1pm.
